In Which The Word Training Is Almost Absent

I have had a less than glorious training week. What work I've managed to get in has been ... blah. You know it's bad when I'm looking forward to the triple bricks so I can feel some intensity.

I think part of it is nutrition. As the weather changes, the food that has worked for me all summer is not only unappealing, but is actually repulsive to me. It's not cold enough for fall foods and it's too dark and gloomy for summer foods. I'm having a 'tween season food crisis. Help!! (Seriously - pomegranates are the ONLY thing I can think of to bridge this gap. They're fabulous - in a weird sort of platypus-of-the-food-world way - but it's damn near impossible to fill up on the darn things.) I repeat - HELP!! What are y'all eating right now?

In other news - I follow lots of ocean conservation blogs. If you didn't already know, I'm passionate about protecting and preserving our ocean environments. But I have to confess - that is not the main reason I read some of these blogs. No - the main reason I follow some of them is that where else in the world could you see a picture of a Bearsharktopus?? Or be asked the question, "Do you have a retractable sexual appendage on your forehead?" first thing in the morning. (To which I will answer, "No, never." But I'm not even going to begin to vouch for Glaven's answer to that same question.) So, if you're looking for some serious wackiness in between workouts you should totally become a marine life conservationist. (However, if you become one of those sea kitten freaks, I will have to cut you support your right to be a moron disagree with me, just don't tell me about it.)

Finally - congratulations to Carolina John (my soon to be neighbor!) for landing a sweet, new job! And good luck in Augusta to Wes and Kevin. Rock it guys!!

TODAY I LOVE: my dog Wasabi! (A woman was quite taken aback by him this morning and gasped, "He looks like a muppet!" Which may be true, but my actual thought was, "Which one?" A question to ponder.)

LOL at the 'he looks like a muppet' comment.

I just discovered whole wheat berries to add to salad. Somehow those are really interesting to me right now. basically whole grain wheat things with interesting flavor and texture (at least i think so). try them out if you haven't already!

I'm an oatmeal junkie...when all else fails, and all other foods are not working for me, I eat Oatmeal sprinkled with some dried fruit...and a little brown sugar (Splenda brown sugar if I'm really watching it).

Also, nonfat Greek yogurt with some berries (even frozen works) and some Kashi (go lean) also very satisfying.

RMAO at "retractable sexual appendage on your forehead" I wrote about visualization on Glaven's blog...that line gave me quite the visual as well...hahahahaha

"Do you have a retractable sexual appendage on your forehead?"

Uh, no, not retractable.

Hold on. Wait a sec. I take that back.

Yes. Yes, I do.

What am I eating, sister? Take my word, you don't wanna know because it has tons of psilocin in it and it's making me see things. Like retractable sexual appendages on my forehead. Which for me, as a dude, is okay.

But for a skirt like you?

It'd just be wrong

You eat way healthier than I do... especially since I have been in moving out and moving in mode for the past two weeks, my eating has been crap! I will have to get back on track. So no food opionions here.

Wasabi is adorable.... although I am not sure which muppet he resembles.
And yes one day you will have to meet up with me and Soutbaygirl at a destination event. Actually we need to get her to come to the east coast....

Thanks for the shout out, sista! As a man, you can never have too many retractable sexual appendages :-)

I am ready to make SOUP!! Bring on a little cold weather...

Bearsharktopus? Ha, yes that's what the world needs to save the oceans, LOL!

Food-wise, I've been having a secret desire to eat Perpeteum paste instead of regular meals. Been using it during my long bike workouts and it's really grown on me. Now I look forward to the last hour of my bike workouts because that's when I get to eat it!

Random thought - but did you see the Amazing Race this past weekend? They had a portion where they had to eat a massive Wasabi role in Japan. Your dog just reminded me of that...

I'm NOT the one to ask on food. I've been the queen of eating out (read lazy). I know what I need to do and I just don't do it. Thanks for the reminder. Today is the day for menus and grocery!
