It seems like I should be able to get up and go, but it ain't happening. Even as a polar bear, I'm not good with cold! However, the bright side is football! The Colts are in the Superbowl - all is good. Titans or Dolphins would have been better, but maybe next year. And I like the Saints just fine. Sure makes the food at our Superbowl party fun to think about - gumbo, etouffe, boudin balls, muffaletta sandwiches - did I mention John (Abbeville native that he is) self-identifies as a coonass? So, yay for the Who Dat Nation, but I'm an AFC girl at heart. I hope the Colts kick their heinies. And you? How has the off season been treating you? Peace!
TODAY I LOVE: winter days that are sunny and 50+degrees!
*Unless you count playing on my Wii fit. I love it so! I totally kick ass on the Zen focus - where you have to sit really, really, really still. But is that good for marathon or tri training? Not so much. Oh wait, but there was that one spin class I did. Two days ago. Sigh. Like I said - not actually training.
**Even after becoming half iron! What's up with that?! I thought I'd automatically be all hardcore now dammit.
***Could not be bothered to type all that out again. See how lazy I've gotten in the off season?

Funny, I was just thinking about you yesterday and wondering how life was treating you post half-Iron. I think after that effort you can be totally excused from winter training for a marathon. You've earned the break, surely?!
yay - you're back!
i'm doing a spring half marathon and now questioning how to get even THAT training accomplished
Ironically, I was thinking about YOU today too! Seriously, I thought - where the hell IS SHE???
Glad you're alive and I'm totally with you on the football. I'm happy for the Saints, it's their time, it's all good. I still think the Colts will hand them their ass on a platter but...
I grew roots into the sofa this winter, it's natural!
Training or not it's good to see you around!
I think Wii fit is totally within the the realm of valid excercise. :)
As for motivation, don't try and make it a big goal - cause then we all decide it's not worth it. Just aim for something simple - like 2 runs per week, even if only for a mile.
You gotta just get out there a do something just like Ray said. I know it does suck to run in the yucky cold.
You will get back to it when you are ready!
Sometimes I FEEL like the middle bear there.
Good to hear from you! I took a pretty good break from actual training last month thanks to a calf injury but I'm back at it again. Nasty cold weather does make it hard, as does extreme heat. I think I'm part orchid.
yea so anyway how's that marathon training coming along? it's going to be here in how many weeks?
tonight's my long run of 15 miles, maybe more. we need to get together soon so i can make fun of your training log.
Wii fit totally counts!
Plus it has that running exercise right? Totally good enough to get your Mary training in.
Heck! It even pace's you!
