What A Weekend
We did not get that run in yet - but we did all of our push ups and roped more than half of the household into doing them with us. It was all kinds of fun doing push ups with seven other people. (Of course the 13 year olds did twice the number called for. Show offs!) I haven't gotten around to all my blog visiting yet. I hope everyone had a fantastic holiday. We had a full house and a full dance card of activities: Thanksgiving feast, two birthdays, girls' night out facials, connecting with the kids' friends, and a couple of trips to the vet! We also had a family photo shoot. Do you have ANY idea how difficult it is to take a decent picture of a bunch of kids? When they are not purposefully making silly faces to hose things up, they are laughing at the one who is, they're sneezing, they're staring in random directions, they're wiggling - because God forbid they should sit still for a nanosecond, or they're texting! We finally got this picture (of our five plus three other kids in our extended family by choice):
But we had to put up with dozens of pictures more like this to get it:
The four year old making jazz hands cracks me up. Isn't she a doll? I miss the boys already - they had to leave at 8 am to get back to Nashville. I worked hard to stay in the moment and enjoy my time with them, but it was difficult to ignore the insidious count down clock in my head. I hope I get better at that part of things. All in all, this was one of my very favorite holidays ever. I've got more to say (no surprise there) but I am worn the heck out! G'night all.

HAHAHAHA! The jaxx hands is a classic pose now.
You will get better at it! Not that it doesn't always SUCK! But it gets easier in a way...if that makes sense at all!! I still cry when I put my son on a plane and probably always will!!
I'm so glad you had a great holiday!!! That's awesome-and the pictures are wonderful!!! I kinda like the one where they are all over the place and not paying attention!!!
Any time that I've tried to get a "decent" photo of a group of kids...I've found it better to ask them to make funny faces on purpose. At least that way they're all looking at the camera. Ha!
Glad you had a great holiday. :-)
That first photo is amazing! How you were able to get everyone to do what they were supposed to do is beyond me.
I'm glad you had a fun Thanksgiving. I'm laughing thinking of how you had others down on the floor doing push-ups with you too. They'll probably remember that for years.
Great pictures! You deserved a fantastic holiday and I am glad you all got one. Your family is beautiful!
Maybe I should try this push up challenge thing-a-ma-bob. I have not done ANY strength training despite the numerous I have whined about it.
Both pics are great! Glad you guys had such a great holiday!
I could barely get my three kids to look in the same direction so I know how hard that is. I am glad you got the group photo though! Sounds like a wonderful weekend! :>)
You were busy! Glad to hear you had such a wonderful Thanksgiving. The pictures are cute.
Ha ha ha! Yea, group photo of the kids. Brilliant!! :-)
I love the second picture, especially the jazz hands!
I don't know how it could get easier. You're a mom and you love them so much. I'm glad you had one of your favorite holidays with them this year :)
Sounds like you had a great holiday.
I loved the pics!
A house full of push-ups?!?! Sweet!!
I think I am all caught up now. Sorry about the pup, those pics made me so sad (bottom lip sticking out while typing this). Sounds like the concert was awesome, so happy it was as good as you were hoping. And even more amazing that you had the kids all with you for Thankgiving!!
Jazz Hands!!!!! Awesome.
