In training news - the Madonna concert was incredibly inspiring. I love her music because it speaks to so many places I've been, but more than that. Madonna herself speaks to me. I admire and am inspired by her outspokenness, her ability to reinvent herself, her dedication to what she thinks is important, and last but so not least - her physique. Damn, she is hot! Her arms are chiseled, her thighs sculpted - she is so strong! She is ten years older than I am and in better shape than I have ever been in. Of course I haven't spent the last twenty-five years eating well, working out, and dancing eight hours a day. But I am ready to start now! Well, maybe not the dancing eight hours a day part. I'm thinking maybe 45 minutes a day might be enough to start with. Yes - I am all fired up to add Dance Cardio to the off season workout routine. (Remember the part where I think 50 degrees is too cold to run? Yeah. Clearly I'm gonna have to replace running with something indoors-y if I want to maintain any kind of aerobic base.) I'll let you know how it goes once I master all the moves but until then, you'll be on the money if you imagine the whitest girl you can flailing enthusiastically and arhythmically around her living room. Woo hoo!
And finally - push ups - Week 1 (for the second time): raging success. If I can do push ups when I'm hungover and do them well, then I know I'm going to finish this challenge with flying colors! Yay me!

Oh, Frankenpuppy...poor baby. I showed my son the picture of Wasabi this morning before he left for school. He said he is cute and reminds him of our Dink. He also like the name Wasabi.
Yes, Madonna has a smokin' hot body and I'd love the be that fit and toned! Dance cardio and flailing around the living room sounds fun for the offseason!!
Wonderful job on the pushups!! I had to laugh when you said..."if I can do pushups when I'm hungover I know I will finish this challenge." It reminded me of a line from the movie Dodgeball..."if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball!"
Poor frankenpuppy! I'm glad it wasn't too serious. Madonna is definitely one fit chica, and I think Dance Cardio is an EXCELLENT off season workout program. You have fun!!!
(Will we be seeing you on dancing with the stars?) :-)
Poor Frankenpuppy!
Glad to hear that he is OK. He could have really been hurt.
Good job on your workout. The good thing about working out when your hungover is that the alcohol flows right out!
oh no!! poor pup :( those elizabethan collar things are just so tragic. my dog has worn them many a time. but not because he tried to fly through a window. he unfortunately cannot leave his own tail alone.
dance cardio sounds VERY sassy. have fun!
Poor Wasabi!!! The satellite dish around his neck-SUCKS!!! Give him a big kiss from me even though he hasn't the foggiest who the hell I am!!!
As for Madonna.....you must remember that she has MILLIONS to spend on personal trainers and the time and money to spend hours in the gym everyday-us mere mortals have to work and live our lives without personal assistants, trainers, cooks, nannies etc.....
Wasabi has that same sheepish yet mischievous look that Brinley sometimes gets. Glad he wasn't hurt worse.
Have to lol at Cindy's comment -- Dodgeball is one of my all time favorite movies.
Have fun dancing and with the pushups! Nice job so far!
Oh the poor pup...
I am glad Madonna was awesome the chica never disappoints. The dance cardio sounds like a great way to get that HR up and smoke through the calories.
Glad you enjoyed the Madonna concert. My sister has been to a few and says she put on a great show.
So sorry to hear about your dog. How awful, the poor thing.
Awe poor little frankenpuppy. At least he will be ok.
Thanks for the yoga info. I actually download a great weekly video podcast that has a 20-30 minute specific focus (leg, arms, tri, runner.etc)
It can be found on I-Tunes. It is called yogamazing
Pooooooor puppy. :-(
I'm also laughing at Cindy's comment about dodgeball.
The poor puppy! Lucky it wasn't worse! Hopefully he learns his lesson. I'm starting to think like you with the indoor workouts. I really want to keep running outside, but the cold, wet, snowy dark is just not that appealing. The dance cardio looks fun.
I'm so glad Wasabi was not hurt worse! Poor thing does look sad.
Have fun with the dancing. I've always thought it was a fun way to work out. Used to go out and dance for hours back in the 70-80's!
Calyx,
Happy Thanksgiving! Have a wonderful holiday with your family!!!
