Moving Right Along

Weekly Totals:
Last week? 18 minutes
This week (so far)? 6 hours, 30 min
I still have an hour run tomorrow. Yeah, this is a better training week than last.

Bike Ramblings:
Shot bloks and Gatorade Endurance continue to work for me. I felt evenly and well fueled. Thinking about trying some gels in the upcoming weeks. 36 miles today in 2:40 - with a headwind and the uphills all on the first half. Ugh. But nice on the way home. Also, no flat tires for two weeks running. Woo hoo! I love Vivian again.

Swim Notes:
Yesterday the lifeguard told me the pool was 25 meters, not yards. Fun! I've been swimming a (teeny) bit more each workout than I thought. I did 1200 meters steady in 25:44 which put me on a 2:08/100m pace. I was going for under 2:10 - so yay!

Run Worries:
I'm a little nervous about jumping up to an hour tomorrow. And excited. My plan is to run for 30 minutes straight (which I've been doing a lot of) and then following a pattern of 2 minutes walking and 8 running. I know I can do that comfortably pretty much 'til the cows come home. I'm working the half marathon run plan into the oly tri training plan. I'm already where I want to be for both the swim and the bike - so it's really a matter of maintaining that and working on my limiter: the run. We've done a lot of (half dozen or so) bricks recently and I'll continue to do one a week but I'm going to do them mid-week: medium length bike + easy run. I want to have my long runs just for running. I need that focus on building my run base.

Good luck to the racers this weekend: RBR (San Diego RNR Marathon) and Cindy (Tour de Cure)! Go pals go!! Everyone else hang loose and enjoy the weekend.

Hey now, that's some improvement from last week!! Good for you!

Glad you are having good luck with your bike nutrition. Wow- very nice swim! Hang in there with the running. With consistency, you'll be running hours at a time before you know it :) Good luck with your run tomorrow.

Thanks for the well wishes for my ride tomorrow, too.

The run/walk plan works really well. I started doing the same thing initially - it helps a ton!

Hey! can't wait to ehar how your long run goes tomorrow Especially with the new shoes! My son is in town so I'm taking him on two trail runs tomorrow and monday-yes I'm taking the day off on monday to hang with my sosn and I can't wait! We're going on our first college visit!!

I think I'm going to do a Duathalon in July-I really wanted to do a tri-but honestly HATE to swim. I can swim I just despise it! But love to bike and run...so I thought I might as well try it! We must discuss San Fran. I'm booking a hotel this week and probably buying my airplane ticket thie weekend as well. I'm going to have to amp up my running-it's been slacking due to work...if only i could win the lottery!!

Can't wait to hear about your run tomorrow!

Way to kick butt on your training this week! Getting the nutrition down is a process. One that I have not finished yet.
