<---This? Is kinda freaking me out. But it's been a great day. The race seems really well organized. It was s-m-o-o-t-h picking up packets, going to the athlete's meeting, and checking in bikes & bags. I've never checked my stuff in the night before (which is not surprising given that I've been in two triathlons) - but it's nice. It's a relief to have all that figured out.
<---This? Is kinda freaking me out, too. We'll get to the race site when it's 37 degrees. That is waaaaay too close to freezing for me. We (in the half) will get in the water when the air is 42 degrees and the water will be 66 degrees. I'm a little nervous about T1 and getting dry/warm to start the bike. But don't you LOVE the "sunny, sunny, sunny" written across the bottom?! The run should be beautiful. Hope I can both get there and appreciate it when I do! (I think I can, I think I can, I think I can!)
<---This? Doesn't freak me out at all. :D We got to meet the fabulous Shirley Perly and the wonderful Nancy Toby! (Y'all - they are even nicer in person than they are on their blogs if you can believe that!) I haven't met Waddler, TriSharkie, or Vickie yet - but Shirley did. They're all doing the full distance, so I hope to be able to cheer for them at their finish. Oh - and we met Kevin and his wife Cathy too. (Only I totally forgot to snap a picture. Bad blogger! John is under orders to take pictures of everything and everyone we talk to tomorrow, so maybe I'll have more then.)
And this is the view from our hotel window. So lovely. Goodnight! Thank you again for all of your wishes and sweet thoughts. I've got them all stored away to savor during those hours on the bike tomorrow! Peace.
TODAY I LOVE: Having SUSHI for my pre-race meal! Yay!!!
PS - Did I mention the Marine Corps Ball happening here at the same time? Yeah, we've got an open room party two doors down. And? A crying baby right next door. So if anyone has any special QUIET mojo - we could use some tonight. Shhhhhhhh.

k, sending some quiet mojo for ya... hope you can get some sleep!! I'm so excited for you!!! Bring it home girlie!
Good luck! I never sleep before a big event. You'll be fine and it looks so pretty there!
OK! The air is gonna be cold when you first get on the bike. Other than that... IT IS PERFECT!!! You have fun, and remember, this is the icing on the cake... the reason we are who we are... ROCK IT!
I am so thinking of you this morning as it's almost time for you to get started! Have a fantastic time! You are going to rock it!!!
Re-read your "few more reflections" this morning and continue to be in huge awe of actually doing the B2B. Yea You!
Other thing.. I've always thought (being clergy) that the church would be the last to clean up the sexism. But enjoying sports (which is what running is for many of us) in the same event as men can be a collegial experience, thanks to great men in the race and volunteers and race officials... or more crappy sexism.
