Woo hoo!!! Job offer came through. (Finally!) Remember how it was supposed to be yesterday? Yeah, well yesterday at three p.m. we (finally) got a call saying there was an offer but they wanted to talk to John directly (not through the recruiter) today.( I started to post last night, but then realized the only thing I could have said is "We have an offer - we just don't know what it is." Gah. I swear these people have the art of "hurry up and wait" mastered. They could teach the military a thing or two - and that's saying somethin'.)
Today (finally) I can say more. Woo hoo!! It's a good offer. (Finally.) (Are you tired of me saying the word "finally" because I'm sorry but I may have to say it a few more times to get it out of my system. Finally, finally, finally! Phew. There, I think I'm done being snarky about how long this process has taken. Finally. :D ) It is a relief to have a job, any job in this economy - and even though the offer is merely "good" and not "great" - the work itself is fantastic and the company (while slow moving on decisions) is wonderfully healthy and exciting.
On the training front - I did my yoga/strength workout while John was on the phone today to keep myself from hovering annoyingly outside of his door. I wasn't very bendy or strong. Turns out stress is counter-productive to bendiness and strength. Who knew? But I got it done. Now I'm wishing I'd also ridden my bike for four hours and run for two hours after that, because John wants to have his celebratory dinner at Red Robin. Nothing says, "Woo hoo I got the job!!" like a million calorie cheeseburger.
Thank you all for your crossed fingers, well wishes, and commiserating with me over how freaking long this took. It's definitely been the Ironman of job searches and it's great to cross the finish line triumphantly. Thanks again peeps!

Congrats to John and the whole clan! This is great news. I may even use this as an excuse to have a beer or two tonight which is great because otherwise I'd've been drinking them without any excuse so now I'm covered.
So thanks for that, John and Calyx Meredith! I owe you.
Beer is objectively better and more celebratory than cheeseburgers. Somehow you didn't get that memo. Now you have.
So now we're even.
