When Monday Is Not A Fun Day

I wish it were Sunday again. Monday? Not so fun. The one and only daughter managed to royally piss us off first thing. Before 7 a.m. THAT, my friends, is talent of the teenage kind. I would give you the back story - but you probably have a teenager of your own and can imagine it. And if you don't have one, then you probably were one at one point and can imagine even worse than what our daughter is plaguing us with right now. (If you neither have nor were a teenager, you are too young to be reading my blog. Or you're some kind of freaky alien. Youngsters and aliens - be gone! Everyone else - how do you keep your head from exploding from teenage nonsense? I need help. Because, seriously? All I want to do is go back to bed. For a week. And a day. So I can miss next Monday too!)

But I can't because it is ridiculously warm here. Mid 60's!! We have Florida weather! I have to go out and run. I was going to earlier but got caught up in work. Now I've finished most of my morning chores and have a carpool to drive, but then there is no excuse. I'm going to fire up the 'ole iPod, throw on the kicks and try to have a good run. In spite of the headache. In spite of how depressing it is to have to ground the girl until she goes to Colorado for Christmas. (Once again we are the meanie parents and the Other Parent gets to be the fun one.) It is SUCH a Monday. Hope some of you out there are lucky enough to be having Tuesdays and Wednesdays!

I love that...
"hope some of you are out there having Tuesdays and Wednesdays"

I remember being a teenager yes, but my oldest is only 10. So...I have a ways to go.

Hope the run was good and helped with the headache.

Peace!

Indeed, thanks to the wonders of time zones, here it's already Tuesday and I can reassure you that it's much better than Monday (although the weather's not any better).

Hope your run smoothed things out for you!

I would so take the mid 60's!!! I don't think we got out of the teens here in Denver today.

UGG teenagers...I feel lucky to have boys that are pretty easy so far....*crossing fingers*

hope you had a good run anyways.

Teenagers. I have two of them. And the female kind seems to be particularly skilled at making parents crazy.

How I deal with it? Sometimes not very well. But I have scripted responses now that I try to rely on to keep me sane.

Here's to a better Tuesday!

LOL... Ahhhhhh.... How I remember those years. It was about that time I totally denied the existence of my teenager. She survived.

Youre really not making me looks foward to the teenage years! I have a *tween* right now, and thank goodness HE is a BOY!

I think I'd be committed if I had to raise a teenage girl. I remember that phase all too well :)

That photo is hilarious! Actually, my stepdaughter was raised as a Mormon so it was I who felt like a teenager living a sinful life. Oh well ...

Hang in there and enjoy that nice balmy weather!!

My teenage son had a concert last night in which he only wore one sock! Oh and he was first chair so he sat in the very first row! At first I wanted to kill him then I laughed hysterically then I wanted to kill him again. In the end I decided that he at least made a typically boring concert entertaining. Sometimes it's best just to laugh at them and move on.

Don't even tell me about that warm weather! We're looking at 5 new inches of snow and the high of 16 degrees!

I am SOOOOO not looking foward to having the tots turn into teens. Oy, oy, oy I can only imagine what surprises are in store.

I leave all my teenagers at work! It is much easier that way. Short of that, you could lock them in the closet and let them out when they are 26. I always say, "there is nothing meaner than a teenage girl"

I feel for you I don't know you do it. Hope you cleared your head on your run!
