We are in our 12th state of the trip so far - Utah! I have never understood the point of blogging from a cell phone until now. There is so much we're seeing that I want to share and I have time to do that while we're driving. But by the time we get to the hotel (if there's internet access)* I'm so tired I can't do more than read a post or two. Still... Driving across the country is such an amazing experience!! We're on our way to Yellowstone to bike a bit this afternoon. Peace!
*Somebody 'splain me why the cheapo hotels all offer free internet while the pricey places in Vegas or the Four Seasons in SF charge between $15 and $20 a day for it?!

I've never understood the whole 'cheap place gets free, expensive place is more'. I think the most expensive internet I ever saw was at the Plaza Hotel in NYC, for $30 a night. Amazing.

Isnt that always the case about the WiFi.
Thats why I am glad ATT has added free WiFI access to all thier DSL accounts. This way I can get Wifi free on any ATT wifi point, which includes almost all starbucks, and many McDonalds

This sounds like such an amazing trip!!!
Someone once told me it was because many of the folks who go to the nicer places often want to disconnect from the Internet or at least not have it so readily available when they stay there. People who travel for business and stay there usually don't care much since they can include it as part of their travel expenses. Since Internet access at hotels is not a big deal for me having a Broadband card for my laptop but I do prefer to stay at the cheaper places for the free breakfasts :-)

The cheap places want your business-the vegas hotels know they'll get your business!!! And one doesn't go to vegas to surf the internet! One goes to Vegas to drop lots of money at the tables and machines-booze is cheap or free!!!
I hope you had a wonderful time at yellowstone. I once did a movie in Livingston Montana-loved it!!! I always wanted to go back! I did my jaunt thru Yellowstone while I was there!!
