On Rest And Rain

The second half of yesterday was comically wretched. We are talking stunningly awful - although luckily not even close to tragic. Stupid, annoying, weird, and frustrating - all in a temporary, this too shall pass kind of way. I was thankful to have completed my workout early because otherwise it wouldn't have happened given the downward crap spiral. I couldn't wait to go to sleep and have the day be over! This morning I was grateful to wake up and realize it was a rest day. None of the ick of yesterday and not even a workout looming on the plan. Rest day. It was soothing to lie in bed listening to the much-needed rain pitter patter on my concrete-like yard. Resting was going well. That is until the day actually started and I discovered the following unpleasantnesses: two of the five kids finishing their homework over breakfast, the mess left (on the floor and the wall) by a puppy with an intestinal disturbance, the remnants of the welcome mat after the puppy apparently tried to eat it (thereby explaining the floor/wall/poop fiasco), and finally that I had gained a whole 'nother pound back.

Is it too late to change the plan? 'Cause I'd much rather work out than have a "rest" like this. Just saying.

Sorry your day went so crappy (puppy wise and other!). I hope today is going better. Keep up the training, you'll get there
